Joan was always fond of coloring pencils.
She learnt how to use them at the age of 26 and in between, she discovered other things.
She made her first animated short, A Kaffa , in the French school Supinfocom where she spent three years and obtained a digital direction degree.
Later, she worked on short films and TVC’s in animation studios in Zagreb, Barcelona ,Paris and London. She recently landed back in her hometown, Beirut, where she works as a freelance illustrator and an art director.
She met like-minded people and together, they founded the multidisciplinary collective called “Waraq”.
They work, eat, and give workshops together in puppet-making, animation, illustration and anything they can play with.
